The Longview Girls Softball Association is 100% volunteer run. Each year, as new players come into the league and veteran players exit out, we have a mix of new, returning and exiting volunteers from our community help make this wonderful softball league run. This includes coaches, board members and any community volunteer. In a typical season, we will have 10-15 teams with 2-3 coaches each, 1-5 board members and over 50 community volunteers help.
In total, it takes over 100 volunteers to run each season. Whatever talents or skills you have, we can use them! Across the country, volunteers are grandparents, siblings, aunts and uncles, teachers, public workers, retirees, community leaders, former LGSA players, friends, neighbors, and more. As a parent volunteer, you have the opportunity to spend that quality time with your child in a safe, fun-filled environment.
No experience is required to become a volunteer, none. Most of the volunteer opportunities require little or no training. LGSA will provide you with any necessary training, as well as support and encouragement along the way. The best volunteers are those who are able to bring added enjoyment to the game simply by being themselves and being a role model for the players. What you see during LGSA softball games is a mere fraction of what you can do as a volunteer. You can volunteer to help in virtually any aspect at Longview Girls Softball Association.
Any community member who wishes to help, please let us know.
We Thank You!
